The arches on either side of the former Royal Bank of Scotland, leading to Royal Exchange Square, have long provided the perfect framing device for city snapper.
This image, taken in the 1960s, captures that lovely, low morning light, as people go about their business.
The ornate, illuminated sign in the distance advertises Stirling's Library, a business resource, which was once housed in the former Royal Exchange building.
The newspaper bills, on the right, belong to William Porteous and Sons, once one of the city's top newspaper and map shops. As well as all the UK titles, they stocked newspapers and periodicals from across the world, and also sold French and Turkish cigarettes.
